COMPETITION FOR RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS TO MITIGATE THE PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE EMERGENCY OF THE COTOPAXI VOLCANO. “ESPE SUMMIT TALENT Co.”

The University of the Armed Forces - ESPE Latacunga Headquarters through the Research Headquarters (R+D+i) and Liaison and the Academic Headquarters open the call for RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS TO MITIGATE PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE EMERGENCY OF THE COTOPAXI VOLCANO “ESPE SUMMIT TALENT Co.”2023, to be held in order to make visible the contribution of the university in solving problems that may arise before, during and after a possible eruption of the Cotopaxi Volcano .

Through this contest, the presentation of projects that propose creative and innovative solutions is sought, which help the general population to counteract the problems taking as a scenario the possible eruption of the Cotopaxi volcano.

The proposals will be analyzed by a commission made up of researchers from the University of the Armed Forces-ESPE who will divide the projects into 4 thematic axes:

1. Energy and Environment
2. Communication and Logistics
3. Health and Human Behavior
4. Electrical, Electronic and Computer Systems

The shortlisted projects will make a presentation to the authorities of the University, Municipal GAD, Provincial GAD, and related organizations on June 15 and 16, 2023.

The project of each thematic axis that has reached the highest score out of 100 will be awarded.

All projects with an innovative technological profile that exceed the score of 70/100 will be presented to the different institutions in charge of managing risks so that they can financially support its execution.

The contest consists of a call process in which university students and teachers will present the project through the online system. Once the call is closed, the evaluation and selection process will be developed.

Anything that has not been regulated in these contest rules is left to the consideration of the organizers.
